About this build

Street furniture is a good subject for a first build because it is mostly straight lines. This bus stop has a black-framed shelter with clear glass panels, a flat green roof ringed in red and white, and a sign pole at the curb, all on a 16 x 12 stud base split between dark gray road and pale sidewalk.

It has the most steps in this group, 14, but each one is short. The 104 parts go together in roughly 35–50 minutes for most first-timers.

Tiles do most of the work at ground level. White grooved tiles in step 2 paint the center line and crosswalk stripes onto the road, and very light gray tiles in steps 3 and 4 pave the sidewalk. Because tiles are smooth, the paving looks like concrete, and you can see clearly where road ends and curb begins.

The shelter is a box built in layers. Tall black 1 x 1 x 5 bricks form the corner posts in step 5, with low black bricks between them as kick rails. Step 6 fits three transparent 1 x 4 x 3 panels as glass, and a stack of white and red bricks on the left side becomes the advertising panel. Step 7 adds a red-topped bench.

The roof is the step to slow down on. Two gray 6 x 8 plates go across the posts in step 8. In step 9, red 1 x 6 bricks stand around their edge, and in step 10 a green 6 x 8 plate drops inside that red rim with white tiles capping the top. The result reads like a planted roof.
