About this build

Look under the cabin and you will find almost nothing holding it up. The trunk is a 4 x 4 column of 2 x 4 bricks, and the deck is an 8 x 8 plate that grips the top of that column and then reaches four studs out to the front and to the left. A 2 x 8 plate in step 6 pushes the deck out further still, and the little plank cabin sits entirely on that overhang.

Three dark brown inverted slopes under the deck, added in step 5, sell the idea that branches are carrying the platform. They plug into the underside of the deck and lean against the trunk, but the real strength comes from the plate's grip on the trunk top, which is why the order matters: finish the trunk, press the deck plate on hard, and only then start the cabin.

The tree has its own logic. Two browns alternate in the trunk so it reads as bark. The canopy rests on two dark green plates, one over the trunk and one over the cabin, topped with green slopes and round bricks, and step 15 hangs more leaves underneath by plugging inverted slopes and round bricks into the undersides of those plates. That thickens the canopy from below without stacking more height on top.

The ladder in step 4 is five pairs of 1 x 1 bricks with tan 1 x 3 plates as rungs. The red gable roof, the trans-yellow lantern and the two red-capped mushrooms below are what most people will notice first.

Count on about 45-70 minutes for 197 parts over 18 steps, on a 16 x 16 stud lawn.
